STéPHANE BAUMIER BECOMES CHAIRMAN OF IRDETO

Stéphane Baumier, Chief Technology Officer of CANAL+ and Member of the Executive Committee, has been appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IRDETO, a CANAL+ company and a global leader in cybersecurity for digital platforms and content protection.

From its headquarters in the Netherlands, IRDETO currently protects more than 6 billion devices worldwide and serves more than 400 consumers in over 75 countries.

Against a backdrop where piracy, fraud and cybercrime have a direct impact on content creation and the media economy, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board is charged with supporting IRDETO’s growth strategy, strengthening technological synergies with the whole CANAL+ group and sustaining the company’s development in its international markets.

A graduate of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Stéphane Baumier began his career at a research institute, before joining CANAL+ in 2000. He has spent most of his professional career abroad, first working in information systems in the Caribbean, Senegal and La Réunion, before helping to establish the K+ subsidiary in Vietnam, where he was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2017. Between 2013 and 2017, he successively headed the Group's subsidiaries in Madagascar, Côte d'Ivoire, and Vietnam, in highly competitive environments that are heavily exposed to content piracy. In 2021, he was appointed Transformation Executive Vice President and then Chief Technology Officer in 2022.
