In a nutshell

At CANAL+, we aim to ensure that the stories we tell and the characters we portray reflect the diversity of the societies we serve.

Our commitment goes beyond content creation: we work to broaden accessibility across all our platforms so that every audience can enjoy our programming. We also expand access to culture and creative opportunities through the Fondation CANAL+, extending our responsibility beyond our own content to support the wider cultural ecosystem.

Ensuring diverse representation on screen

We promote authentic and diverse representation across our productions, ensuring that the perspectives shown on screen reflect the richness of our audiences.

  • Celebrating a diversity of perspectives through content: CANAL+ is committed to reflecting the full richness of society on screen - celebrating diversity across gender, cultures, identities, and perspectives in all our original productions in Europe, Africa, and Asia. From script development to on-screen portrayal, diversity is integrated into our editorial processes - supported by dedicated governance, continuous monitoring, such as using the Bechdel Test, and audience feedback.

  • Channelling the power of our content to create a positive impact on society: CANAL+ leverages its content and talent to raise awareness of environmental, social, and societal challenges, promoting impactful productions such as Empathie and Unbreakable Vows while supporting creators committed to positive change. Paddington, the Group's beloved bear and one of its most iconic IPs, embodies this commitment by supporting UNICEF's fundraising efforts.

Zoom CinéMo

Launched in May 2025 in partnership with the Art Explora Foundation, CinéMo is a mobile cinema designed to bring the magic of film to peri-urban and rural communities with limited access to cultural venues.

Featuring a programme for all ages, curated by a panel of film professionals and beneficiary representatives and drawing extensively on STUDIOCANAL’s catalogue, CinéMo offers much more than film screenings. Built around the theme “A Step Towards Others”, each event combines film and cultural mediation to encourage dialogue, reflection and openness to different perspectives. Beyond the films themselves, the screenings create opportunities for people to come together, share experiences and discover new viewpoints.

In 2025, CinéMo travelled 2,170 kilometres across 33 towns, delivering nearly 300 free screenings and welcoming around 11,000 attendees.
