CANAL+ and CHANEL celebrate cinema in Deauville

13 September 2025

On Friday, September 12th, during the 51st edition of the Deauville American Film Festival, CANAL+, the leading partner of film creation in France, and CHANEL, a House committed to the dialogue between fashion and cinema, brought together major figures and emerging talents of the seventh art for a dinner celebrating creativity.

Held in the exceptional setting of Les Franciscaines, the evening gathered artists, filmmakers, producers, and members of the Festival juries in an atmosphere that was both intimate and convivial—reflecting the spirit of this unmissable event dedicated to American cinema.

Among the guests were Kristen Stewart, competing with her directorial debut The Chronology of Water, and Zoey Deutch, recipient of the Nouvel Hollywood Award, alongside Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Pascale Arbillot, Aure Atika, Bertrand Bonello, Damien Bonnard, Mathieu Demy, Julien de Saint Jean, Jonathan Cohen, Florence Foresti, Ana Girardot, India Hair, Mia Hansen-Løve, Alice Isaaz, Kyan Khojandi, Lyna Khoudri, Sandrine Kiberlain, Cédric Klapisch, Alexandre Kominek, Claude Lelouch, Alex Lutz, Vincent Macaigne, Alexis Manenti, Benoît Magimel, Kad Merad, Clémence Poésy, Laura Smet, Antoine de Caunes, Laurie Cholewa, Julia Vignali, as well as members of the Festival jury: Golshifteh Farahani, Thomas Cailley, Eye Haïdara, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Benjamin Millepied, Katell Quillévéré, Émilie Tronche, and the Revelations Jury: Jean-Pascal Zadi, Suzy Bemba, Bilal Hassani, Julien Colonna, and Anaïde Rozam. Together, they embody the boldness, diversity, and dynamism of a constantly evolving cinema.

This dinner reflected two complementary forms of commitment:

That of CANAL+, a partner of French and European cinema since its creation in 1984, the leading partner of American studios (Paramount, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros) and platforms (Netflix, Apple+, HBO, Paramount+), which identifies and supports talent from their first works—from script development to distribution—both in France and internationally, notably through its subsidiary STUDIOCANAL, Europe’s leading film and television studio.

And that of CHANEL, which maintains a historic relationship with cinema. This commitment takes many forms—from supporting production and film launches, to costume creation, backing festivals and iconic institutions, and restoring masterpieces to ensure the preservation and transmission of cinematic heritage.

As Official Partners of the Deauville Festival, CANAL+ and CHANEL reaffirm through this event their shared values: supporting creation, nurturing the talents shaping today’s and tomorrow’s cinema, and preserving and passing on the legacy of film history.
